Civil 3D 2010 – Structure Label Bug Fix

Create a pipe run with a common structure (e.g. manhole) S2. By making a single pipe network (i.e. Sanitary), and creating separate alignments for each run (i.e. AL-1 and AL-2), it’s possible to label a structure as STA 3+00 AL-1 in the profile for alignment AL-2 (where the stationing will be different).

To change the alignment a run is referenced to, simply right click on a structure label in profile, and select the AutoCAD Properties command from the menu. At the bottom of the palette, you’ll see the ability to change the reference alignment. The bad news is, this doesn’t work in Civil 3D 2009, and Update 2.1 doesn’t resolve the issue.

The good news is, this has been fixed in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010.
