EZ Civil Design Toolbars
Civil Design historically doesn’t ship with tool bars, but they’re simple to create. To create a new toolbar in 2006 products, and include commands you can’t find in the CUI dialog, follow this procedure:
1. Type ZZSUPON to turn on tech support information, this is an old undocumented command.
2. Select a command from the menu you wish to create a button for. Notice the command is echoed on the command line similar to the following:
(cd_mnl)(zz_sdsk ‘(load2 “ad” “prof_sel”))
3. Highlight this string and copy it to the clipboard (select the text, right click, select copy)
4. Click Tools menu >Customize >Interface.
5. In the Customize User Interface dialog box, Customize tab, in the Customizations In pane, right-click Toolbars and select ‘New Toolbar.’
A new toolbar (named Toolbar1) is placed at the bottom of the Toolbars tree.
6. Do one of the following:
Enter a new name over the Toolbar1 text.
Right-click Toolbar1. Click Rename. Enter a new toolbar name.
Right-click Toolbar1. Click Rename. Enter a new toolbar name.
7. Select the new toolbar in the tree view, and update the Properties pane:
In the Description box, enter a description for the toolbar.
In the On By Default box, click Hide or Show.
In the Aliases box, enter an alias for the toolbar.
8. In the Command List pane, drag and drop a command (any command with a picture that MIGHT represent what you need – no buttons in Civil Design = no pictures either), onto the name of the toolbar you just created.
9. Highlight and delete anything displayed in the Macro box, and paste in the command you copied in steps 2 and 3 above.
10. Place ^c^c^c^p before the command
11. Place ;ldd after the command (semicolon preceding the letters ‘ldd’) to yield the following:
^c^c^c^p(cd_mnl)(zz_sdsk ‘(load2 “ad” “prof_sel”));ldd
12. Click OK to build the customization and return to the drawing.
13. Type ZZSUPOFF to turn off tech support information
