When you purchase Civil 3D, you’ll find the package includes “Civil 3D – Land Desktop 2006 Companion.” This is simply Land Desktop tied to the Civil 3D license (yes, if you purchase Civil 3D, you’ll get a Land Desktop ‘freebie’), and you’ll need to install the following service pack to update your LDT:

If you opted not to purchase Civil 3D, and you only purchased Land Desktop 2006, you’ll need to install the following service pack to update your LDT:
As always, I would recommend disabling your Virus Scanner for the duration of the installation of the service pack. Please read the directions (the Readme file) prior to installing the service pack.
You can tell if a service pack has been applied by selecting “About Land Desktop” (or any product) from the Help menu, and selecting the Product Information button.
