Microsoft Surface

No doubt Multi-touch computing technology is beginning to take shape. We see it on the new Blackberry (well, sort of), we see it on the iPhone, the iPod, I use it every day on the MacBook pro Trackpad.

If you haven’t seen Microsoft Surface, it’s provocative. However, in 1987 Apple had a vision as well. The video above is Microsoft Surface as now seen at several Sheraton Inns across the US, but the price tag per unit was a hefty $12,500 which has slowed adoption. The video below is the original production of Apple’s “Knowledge Navigator.”

Global Imagination makes a spherical display that’s been seen in colleges and universities, museums – it was showcased at the Olympic games as well, check it out. Can you imagine where Google Earth is navigating?

If this doesn’t wet your appetite, I’m not sure what can. For more information about the future of Microsoft products, check out the Windows 7 post on Paving the Way.

Cheers!
