Windows Installer Cleanup

You did a clean uninstall of Civil 3D, tried to re-install, but you’re receiveing an error message that Civil 3D already exists…

Civil 3D, like many programs, leaves Microsoft Windows Installer configuration information behind when it is installed. In some cases, that information is not removed when the program is uninstalled.

To clean up the Windows Installer configuration information, download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility Package and remove the Civil 3D files:

You’ll then be able to proceed with a new install.

Cheers!

    Hi Pickle,
Thanks for posting this. I have to refer people to this application ALL the time. One thing to keep in mind is what it does NOT do:

“The Windows Installer CleanUp Utility does not perform the following functions: • Remove Windows Installer
    • Remove files of any programs that are installed by Windows Installer, such as Microsoft Office 2003″

Which means you will have to manually delete the installed files from both your Program Files folder and your Documents and Settings.

    See you at AU!
